Do It Yourself Goes Glam

Working from a plan in the Classic Buildings library, the Do It Yourself she shed included many custom shed ideas that transformed it from a plain storage shed into a playful and practical getaway. The empty shed became a pretty oasis by adding a paver patio, installing interior and exterior lighting, and embellishing doors with metal sheeting. Comfy seating and space-saving yet functional interior details were added to promote relaxation and creativity. The material choices for wall, ceiling and floor panels were upgraded to durable products from LP, including:
  • LP® ProStruct® Floor with SmartFinish®. Treated engineered flooring offers longer-lasting performance and better durability when compared to untreated plywood flooring. LP ProStruct Floor with SmartFinish resists fungal decay and termite damage, and offers a smooth surface for floor paint.
  • LP® ProStruct® Roof Sheathing with SilverTech®. The reflective SilverTech finish used on the ceiling helps brighten the shed’s interior, while also keeping out some of the sun’s heat to help lower the interior temperature.
  • LP® SmartSide® Panel Siding. LP SmartSide engineered wood panels were painted with high-quality exterior paint inside and out for a durable and beautiful finish. The SmartGuard® manufacturing process ensures strength and resistance against fungal decay and termites.
