Better Together: Add Strength to Your Sub-Floor System with LP Legacy® Products
When it comes to sub-floor systems, building with products designed to complement one another is critical for a smooth project. That's why LP's powerful pair of sub-flooring products, LP Legacy® Premium Sub-Flooring and LP Legacy Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive, offer a great solution to any sub-flooring project.
Let's dig into this dynamic duo, the technology behind each product, and how they can help you build better sub-flooring systems.
LP Legacy® Premium Sub-Flooring Brings the Power of Gorilla Glue Technology®
LP Legacy panels get their superior strength and stiffness from Gorilla Glue Technology®, incorporated during the manufacturing process. To create each engineered wood panel, wood strands are blended with waxes and resins, based in Gorilla Glue Technology, that provide strength and moisture resistance throughout the panel.
Once the strands are aligned and bonded at the molecular level, the panels become one of the strongest, stiffest sub-floor options on the market. Additionally, the edges on each panel receive a clear, high-performance seal for even more protection.
As part of a duo of sub-flooring products, LP Legacy panels provide the strength you need from the inside out. But you can add even more strength and stiffness to your sub-flooring system by choosing a new adhesive product from LP.
NEW From LP: Help Prevent Squeaks With LP Legacy® Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive
LP Legacy Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive offers the benefit of a squeak-free lifetime limited warranty when used as part of an LP Legacy sub-flooring system. The adhesive comes out as a foam and collapses to a gel, filling in voids and gaps and making a complete connection between the sub-flooring and I-joists. This goes a long way in eliminating squeaks.
With a much higher yield, this new adhesive makes installation even quicker and easier. One canister of LP Legacy adhesive produces the same amount of adhesive as up to 12 cans of conventional adhesive.
"Builders want a product they can trust for strength and durability. They also want to be able to save as much money as possible on the jobsite," adds Kelly Harmon, Senior National Product Manager (OSB/EWP) at LP Building Solutions. The waste factor is important-with LP Legacy adhesive, waste can be reduced as fewer containers of adhesive are emptied over the course of a job. Additionally, the LP Legacy Adhesive Limited Warranty adds peace of mind. "You'll have the benefits of not only a structural lifetime warranty but also a squeak-free warranty," says Harmon.
Using LP Legacy adhesive with the corresponding applicator gun allows installers to control the bead size for additional consistency, and the gun comes in two different sizes, 15- and 30-inch. The 30-inch option allows them to reach out over I-joists without having to step out onto them. It can also be applied in any weather conditions, from rain and very cold temperatures to high heat environments.
In recent testing completed at the University of Maine, Harmon notes that LP Legacy Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive “eliminated squeaks caused by movement between the sub-floor and fasteners.”
How LP Legacy Premium Sub-Flooring and LP Legacy Premium Adhesive Work Together
LP Building Solutions offers LP Legacy Premium Adhesive alongside LP Legacy Premium Sub-Flooring, two products that work together to create a strong, reliable sub-floor system. Every jobsite has a ton of moving parts, from product shipments, supplies, and schedules to subcontractors and homeowners. It's no wonder that many project teams can struggle to maintain quality jobsite communication and collaboration throughout the building process. And when communication slips, construction companies inevitably deal with costly errors, inefficient workflows, delayed projects, or wasted time, leaving clients and the team frustrated.
