Did You Know? What Makes LP® SmartSide® Products So Easy to Work With
Everyone wants to work faster and smarter – not harder. LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding products can help your business because they are designed to give you the workability of wood, so you can squeeze more productivity from each workday.
Engineered to Offer the Workability of Wood
LP SmartSide engineered wood siding can help your crew save time and money on your next job. Here's how LP has workability nailed.
- Cuts with standard woodworking tools. Working with fiber cement requires expensive diamond-tipped cutting blades and numerous tools. To install LP engineered wood, you will need only a few standard woodworking tools: a circular saw or miter saw, a nail gun or drill, plus primer, sealant and paint.
- Lighter weight and easy to carry. Even though engineered wood from LP is extremely durable, it's also a relatively lightweight material and installs easily. LP SmartSide products resist breakage, so they can be transported on the jobsite by just one worker. Fiber cement is heavy and requires two people when handling to avoid breakage.
- Longer lengths for fewer seams. LP SmartSide siding comes in 16 foot lengths for fewer seams after installation. Fiber cement's shorter 12-foot lengths often result in more seams and joints, which means more installation time.
- Consistently straight pieces. Because each piece of engineered wood is consistently straight, LP SmartSide products cut out the time your installers spend dealing with broken and split pieces. There are no knots and no voids to cull out either, so you have less material waste and less labor required.
- Ready to paint. All LP SmartSide products come pre-primed and ready to paint to help you save time.
