Product Testing That Goes The Extra Mile
Just like the stock market, the construction industry hates uncertainty. Architects and builders look for high-performance products they can count on, year after year. And next year, LP Building Solutions will proudly celebrate its 45th anniversary.
Our longevity is due in large part to our commitment to rigorous product testing and credentialing. Here are some examples:
- Last summer, we tested LP Legacy® engineered sub-flooring at the raging Britannia Falls in Canada, exposing it for a full 24 hours to 625 cubic feet per second of rapid waterfalls. LP Legacy performed brilliantly, showing why it's one of the strongest rated sub-floors on the market today. Its outstanding moisture resistance allows us to confidently back it with the “Covered Until It's Covered” no-sand warranty that lasts until the floor is covered, no matter how long the build time.
- We've put LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing through the industry's toughest tests, including the ones that gave it a 30-minute Class A Flame Spread Rating. We also conducted live burn events in cities across the U.S. to demonstrate its unique combination of flame-spread resistance and burn-through resistance.
- We asked NASA to test the impact resistance of both LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding and fiber cement siding. LP SmartSide siding absorbed the impact of 77 mph baseballs and 63 mph golf balls without a trace of damage, while fiber cement exhibited holes and dents.
For nearly half a century, we've never hesitated to put our products through punishment to ensure that they deliver high performance on the jobsite.
