Watch: LP on Making It with Amy Poehler & Nick Offerman
It's no secret there is an increasing trend of sheds being transformed into alternative uses such as backyard getaways, hobby hideouts and virtually any unique purpose one can dream up. That means it is more important than ever to have tips to create these in-demand aspirational sheds in your back pocket.
To illustrate this growing trend, LP® Outdoor Building Solutions® was recently featured on NBC reality TV show Making It with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman in association with Heartland Sheds. Four contestants were tasked with transforming a Heartland Shed built with LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding into their ideal vacation getaway space, each reflecting a unique theme.
Contestants had no limits when building their sheds-cutting out floor-to-ceiling windows, opening up roofing to create skylights and more. Jason Bergeron, director of marketing for Heartland Sheds, attributes the smooth build process largely to the materials used.
"We chose LP Outdoor Building Solutions products because we wanted our sheds to stand out and look amazing," says Bergeron. "Specifically, LP SmartSide siding provided contestants design flexibility so each was able to bring their personal vision to life."
The end results showcased the versatility of working with LP Outdoor Building Solutions products, as each contestant took a diverse design direction. Final sheds included a 1960s Cuban house, nature retreat, hippie hideaway and California bungalow.
When building an aspirational shed, the materials can make or break the project's success. "LP Outdoor Building Solutions checks all the boxes for us," says Bergeron. "LP SmartSide Trim & Siding is extremely durable, and I can't imagine how the contestants would have been able to customize the sheds the way they did without the easy workability of the product."
When a client is dreaming up their lifestyle shed, it can be easy for them to focus on the design and skip past foundational elements such as the structural and exterior materials to use. Learn more about the key advantages of LP Outdoor Building Solutions to guide customers to an aspirational shed that will feature durability while meeting their individual goals. Meanwhile, prepare to be inspired after watching the full episode of Making It featuring LP Outdoor Building Solutions and Heartland Sheds.
