Top 5 Benefits of LP® BuildSmart Preferred Contractor Program

When it comes to the wide variety of contractor loyalty programs that exist on the market, the tangible payoff it can have on your business is not always clear. But, not to worry. Today we break down the details of the LP® BuildSmart Preferred Contractor Program.

How Does LP's Loyalty Program Work?

The LP BuildSmart Program helps exterior and remodel business owners to leverage the most from their decisions and purchases. By supporting loyal customers with relevant services, opportunities and guidance, members can get the most out of every lead and purchase to take their business to the next level.

There are three levels of membership: Pro, Expert and Master. As you progress through the program (for example, by completing LP product training), you unlock additional advantages, tools and cash rebates to boost business. Don't just take our word for it, though. We spoke with two LP BuildSmart Master members to get their unique POV on the top five program perks:

  1. Priority Lead Generation

LP BuildSmart members are listed at no charge on the LP® SmartSide® online contractor locator, where homeowners can directly request re-side quotes. “We receive numerous quality leads per year through the locator,” says John Babcock, owner of RenovationPLUS in Carmel, Indiana. “A high percentage of those result in projects. Additionally, these homeowners are typically savvy and have done their homework. Those are the leads I like to get.”

  1. Redeemable Awards

The LP BuildSmart Program allows you to turn your LP SmartSide product purchases into points that can be redeemed for tools, cash rebates, co-branded marketing support and more. For Barry Roewe, president of TrueSon Exteriors in Columbia, Missouri, the redeemable points are so impactful that he relies on them as part of his business income.

"For example, when I redeem my LP BuildSmart points for a truck wrap (which can cost upwards of 4 000 $), that allows me to use our income to focus on other business necessities such as upgrading the vehicles themselves or hiring additional staff. It also allows me to pass those rewards directly down to my employees, for instance by purchasing gift cards for bonuses."

  1. Convenient Mobile App

Knowing most contractors are completing business on the go, the LP BuildSmart mobile app allows professionals to access resources, redeem rewards, and retrieve leads right from their smartphones. Babcock says the app has been a gamechanger for making his day-to-day operations more efficient. For instance, he uploads receipts directly to the app weekly to quickly turn them into redeemable points.

  1. Customized Product Training

LP's team of professional installation contractors provide hands-on training to every LP BuildSmart member. Plus, members have access to valuable online training tools to provide their staff and crews with the latest installation advice, tips and tricks. "I require my sales team to watch the online instruction videos because they provide insight and detail that other companies cannot. In this business, you need every arrow in your quiver you can use," says Roewe.

  1. Direct Access to Marketing Support

LP BuildSmart members are eligible for marketing support, such as an LP-hosted website that allows you to upload job photos, post customer reviews and more. "The LP BuildSmart Program helps validate our company by raising awareness of our connection to LP," says Roewe. "If we are in a bidding war, the marketed LP BuildSmart affiliation could be what ultimately helps us win the project."
